Madelyn Bay

Madeline began her training at Illinois Ballet Theater in Moline, Illinois. In 2006 she joined the pre-professional company River Pointe Ballet. She studied under scholarships with the Bolshoi Ballet, Ballet West, Pittsburgh Ballet, Orlando Ballet and Texas Ballet Theater. She attended the University of Utah and joined the resident company, Utah Ballet. She received her B.F.A. with a double emphasis in ballet performance and teaching essentials. 

Madeline is a leading artist with Baller Idaho currently in her twelfth season with the company. Some of her performance highlights with Ballet Idaho include Fairy Godmother in Edwaard Liang’s Cinderella, Helena in Peter Anastos’ A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, as well as featured roles in Danielle Rowe’s Chaminade and Dreamland, Ricardo Amarante’s Love Fear Loss and Carmen, and Robyn Mineko Willaims’ Grey Horses. She had also preformed principal parts in ballets by Twyla Tharp and George Balanchine. In the summer, Madeline dances with ARC Dance in Seattle, under the direction of Marie Chong. During her 7 seasons with ARC, she has originated principal roles for works by Alex Ketley, Wen Wei Wang and David Fernandez. The past three summers Madeline has danced with Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance in North Carolina. This summer she danced the title role in artistic director Heather Maloy’s new production Cleopatra. Madeline also performs as a guest artist for A.V.A Ballet Theatre in Reno, Nevada performing leading roles in The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker as well as contemporary ballet choreography by the artistic director Alexander Van Alstyne. Locally Madeline has danced with LED, Boise Dance Co-op and at Treefort Music Fest, performing works by Brendan Duggan, Whyteberg, and many others. Madeline has also been a Ballet Idaho Academy faculty member, as well as many other studios in the treasure valley since 2012 and is a highly sought after private coach and instructor.
