Our award-winning competition teams were created for dancers who have a passion for dance, and who regard dance as their most important extra-curricular activity.

Competition teams are chosen by auditions, which are held in the spring. And teams are in session for the school year, September through May.

Dancers perform approximately 9-13 times per year in the community in parades, BSU games, high school drill team events, our recitals, and more. They also attend conventions and participate in between three and five competitions, depending on the team.

Classes for Competition Dance Teams

·        All teams meet a minimum of once/week as a team.  Requirements go up or down based on age and level of team.

·        All teams take at least one Ballet class per week.

·        All teams take one non-performing Jazz Technique class per week.

Competition Dance Team members receive a multi-class discount on all classes.

Costumes

Each team dancer generally purchases 2-4 costumes for their team dances, as well as a ballet costume for their Ballet Class.
