Native to Overland Park, Kansas, Danica Mahlandt fell in love with ballet and began her pre-professional studies at the age of 7. Her training began with local studios including DanceWorks Conservatory, American Dance Center, and Legacy School of the Arts, and later extended to the professional training programs and companies of The Washington School of Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, and Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company. Throughout the years her love for, and training in, dance expanded to include other styles including jazz, modern, contemporary, flamenco, clogging, and ballroom. Danica has participated in regional and international dance festivals and performed with Kansas Regional Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Ballet Legacy, Kansas City Youth Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, and Brigham Young University Idaho's Dance Alliance on stages throughout the U.S. and Canada. She received her minor in dance from Brigham Young University Idaho and now enjoys sharing her passion for dance with her students.
